The equipment

• High-output portable air conditioner
• Approximately 12,000 BTU DOE/SACC
• Dual-hose or high-efficiency inverter design
• Standard 120V power
• Window exhaust installation
• Intended for one enclosed room

The initial target equipment is comparable to a Midea Duo 12,000-BTU DOE/SACC portable air conditioner. The exact unit may vary based on inventory but will meet the minimum cooling specifications shown. Phoenix Portable AC does not guarantee a specific indoor temperature, and cooling performance depends on room size, insulation, windows, ceiling height, sun exposure, electrical conditions, and outdoor temperature.

These safety rules apply to all equipment rented from Phoenix Portable AC.

They supplement the Rental Terms and the manufacturer’s instructions provided with the specific unit.

The manufacturer’s instructions and any equipment-specific directions provided at delivery control if they are more restrictive than these general rules.

1. Intended use

The equipment is intended only for temporary indoor cooling at the approved delivery address.

It is designed to cool a reasonably enclosed room or defined area. It is not designed or guaranteed to cool an entire home or building.

Do not use the equipment for any purpose other than ordinary indoor cooling.

2. Electrical safety

You must:

• Plug the unit directly into a suitable grounded wall outlet
• Use the outlet and circuit approved during installation
• Keep the plug, cord, and outlet dry and accessible
• Stop use and contact us if a breaker repeatedly trips
• Follow all equipment-specific electrical labels and instructions

You must not:

• Use an extension cord
• Use a power strip
• Use a plug adapter
• Use a damaged or loose outlet
• Modify or replace the plug
• Connect the equipment to an unapproved generator or temporary power source
• Operate the unit with a damaged cord or plug
• Run the cord under rugs, furniture, doors, or other objects

Do not plug another high-draw appliance into the same circuit unless an appropriately qualified person has confirmed it is safe.

3. Installation and movement

Do not move, tip, lift, roll, rotate, relocate, disconnect, or modify the equipment after installation without our permission.

Do not:

• Remove or alter the window panel
• Disconnect or crush the exhaust hose
• Block the air intake or outlet
• Remove drain components
• Place objects on the unit
• Operate the unit on an unstable or uneven surface
• Place the unit where it can fall down stairs or into water

Contact us if the unit, hose, panel, seal, drain, or cord moves out of position.

4. Ventilation and exhaust

The exhaust system must remain connected and vented through the approved window, door panel, or other approved route.

Do not operate the equipment:

• With the exhaust hose disconnected
• With the exhaust opening blocked
• In a sealed room without the approved exhaust route
• With the window panel removed
• If hot exhaust air is being discharged back into the room

Portable refrigerated air conditioners are not ventless appliances.

5. Water and condensate

Portable air conditioners may collect or drain water.

Keep the equipment away from:

• Bathtubs
• Showers
• Pools
• Sprinklers
• Rain
• Standing water
• Areas where the unit may be splashed

Do not drink or reuse condensate water.

Notify us promptly if:

• Water is leaking
• A drain container or tray is full
• Flooring or walls become wet
• Water is near the plug, outlet, or electrical cord

If water reaches an electrical component and it is safe to do so, turn the unit off without touching wet equipment and contact us immediately.

6. Airflow and clearance

Keep the intake, outlet, exhaust hose, and surrounding clearance free from:

• Furniture
• Curtains
• Bedding
• Clothing
• Boxes
• Dust buildup
• Pet hair
• Other obstructions

Do not cover the unit or dry clothing on it.

Keep combustible materials and heat-sensitive objects away from hot exhaust components.

7. Children and pets

Children must not operate or play with the equipment.

Keep children and pets away from:

• Cords and plugs
• Control panels
• Exhaust hoses
• Drain lines
• Moving fans
• Hot exhaust surfaces
• Window panels and seals

An adult must supervise the equipment’s use.

8. Smoke, chemicals, and flammable materials

Do not operate the equipment near:

• Gasoline
• Paint thinner
• Solvents
• Propane
• Natural-gas leaks
• Flammable vapors
• Aerosol accumulation
• Open flames
• Excessive smoke or dust

Do not insert fingers, tools, or objects into vents or openings.

9. Warning signs

Turn the unit off and contact Phoenix Portable AC immediately if you notice:

• Burning smell
• Smoke or sparks
• Melted or discolored plug or outlet
• Damaged electrical cord
• Repeated breaker trips
• Unusual grinding, banging, or electrical sounds
• Significant water leakage
• Excessive vibration
• Error messages that do not clear
• Hot or damaged electrical components
• The unit has fallen or tipped over
• Any condition that appears unsafe

Call 911 for fire, electric shock, serious injury, suspected carbon monoxide, or another emergency.

Portable air conditioners do not create carbon monoxide, but an existing fuel-burning appliance or generator may.

10. Maintenance and repair

Do not open, repair, clean internally, disassemble, or service the equipment.

Do not use chemicals or cleaning products on the equipment unless we authorize them.

Phoenix Portable AC is responsible for normal maintenance and equipment servicing.

11. Power outages

The equipment will not operate during a power outage.

Turn the unit off if power becomes unstable. Follow any instructions we provide before restarting after power returns.

Never operate the equipment from an indoor generator or place a generator inside a home, garage, enclosed patio, or other enclosed space.

12. HVAC repair remains necessary

Portable equipment is temporary.

If the property’s central cooling system has failed, continue coordinating diagnosis and repair with the property owner, property manager, home-warranty provider, or a properly licensed HVAC contractor.

The rental equipment does not establish that a property satisfies any building, housing, lease, habitability, insurance, or regulatory requirement.
